In Greek mythology, Prometheus was the protector of mankind, the giver of fire to man, and the wisest Titan. His name means "forethought" and he was able to foretell the future. When Zeus revolted against Cronus, Prometheus deserted the other Titans and fought on Zeus' side.
When Zeus became afraid that one of his children would try to replace him, he asked Prometheus to use his predictive powers to tell him which child it would be. Prometheus refused. Zeus then punished him by lashing him to a rock to forever have his liver eaten by an eagle in the day, only to regenerate at night until he divulged the name to Zeus. Hercules rescued Prometheus, who, despite his unimaginable suffering, never divulged the name to Zeus.
We at this blog wish to follow in the footsteps of Prometheus unbound. We want to emulate his care for humankind, and act as a clarion to the world. Foresight can be achieved through careful investigation of intelligence, along with analysis based upon fact, unvarnished, wisdom manifest, through clarity of thought, devoid of political slant or ulterior motive, and delivered in a fashion meant to create the highest order of dialog.
Feel free to challenge, add, detract, or otherwise critique what you read here. We welcome a vibrant dialogue because it is through this method that true education of the mind may take place on all manner of the dangers this world faces from those wishing to tear it down for ideological, political, selfish, and greedy reasons.
